Walter Daub served as a member of General MacArthur's staff during the Second World War and then later in Korea. He was an All-American fullback at Princeton University and honor graduate with the Class of 1905. After graduation, he went to Alaska and supervised that state's first railroad construction. Between 1907 and the beginning of World War II, he traveled the world building roads and railroads. ith the outbreak of World War II, he enlisted in the Army Engineers at the age of 59, and was assigned to build roads through the jungles of the Pacific Islands. In 1944, MacArthur put him on his staff. After the war, he returned to Pennsylvania, where he helped engineer the extensions to the state turnpike. Buried in Pottstown Cemetery East.
