Services for Marie Cartwright, 95, Wills Point, were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, December 16, at Allan Fuller Funeral Home Chapel, Wills Point, with Ken Maddox and Ed Stover officiating.

Burial was in New Hope Cemetery, near Wills Point.

Mrs. Cartwright died December 14, 2008, in Canton.

She was born July 26, 1913 in Wills Point to Grady Lee and Lillian Mamie Sanderson Cooksey. She was a lifelong resident of the Wills Point area, graduating from Wills Point High School. She married Jake Cartwright in 1934. She was an inspector for Malouf Manufacturing Company, retiring after 20 years of service. She was a member of Edgewood Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jake Cartwright, in 1984; sons, David Cartwright, in 1982, and Kerry Lynn Cartwright, in 1999; and sister, Edith Davis.

Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Cathy and Sam Smith, Wills Point; daughters-in-law, Charlotte Cartwright, Wills Point, and Rita Cartwright, Crowley; sister, Charlotte Sledge, Connecticut; grandchildren, Holly McKeown, Corey Johnson, Cari Smith, Cherilynn Cartwright, Elaine Valentine, Wendy Cartwright, Bryan Cartwright and Corey Smith; great-grandchildren, Jake Johnson, Tyler Johnson, Brent Valentine, Bryce Valentine, Catherine Gaona and Trey Smith; great-great-granddaughter, Allison Valentine; nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Pallbearers included James Jacobs, Stan Stevens, Ed Stover, Robert McEnturff, Don Davis and Stanley Tull.
