William Eric Hoyer, of Chambersburg, departed this life December 17, 2008, in Los Angeles.
He was the son of the late William O. Hoyer and Virginia Geib Hoyer of Buchanan Valley.
Eric was a 1984 graduate of Gettysburg High School and attended Shippensburg University for several years. He served in the U. S. Navy for four years. Following his service he worked for various construction companies in the area. He was an avid fisherman and sailor.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by a sister, Laura Sandoe and husband Mark of Gettysburg; a niece, Jessica Sandoe; a nephew, Nicholas Sandoe; an aunt, Sylvia Hoyer; and cousins Julie Corrigan, Carrie McInerny, Cindy Cooney and Tracey Lajeunesse.
Interment was in the St. Ignatius Catholic Church Cemetery, Church Road, Buchanan Valley.
