Funeral services for Fred Ontjes, 63, who died Monday at a Freeman hospital will be held Wednesday. Rites are scheduled for 2 o'clock Wednesday at the First baptist Church in Emery with the Rev. Leland Friesen officiating.Burial will be made in the Community Cemetery with the Hofer Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. The body will lie in state at the Hofer Funeral home for visitation on Monday evening. Mr. Ontjes was a native of Emery. He had lived in Sioux Falls and California before returning to Emery about 10 years ago. Survivors include his widow, Kathleen of Emery and one son, James L. Ontjes of Carmichael, California.
