He was a retired merchant seaman and a member of St. Timothy's Catholic Church. he was buried in Totuskey Baptist Church cemetery, January 21, with Father Michael Duffy officiating.
Survived by wife, Jane Ogden Davis, five sons John "Jack" Davis, Newport News, Maxwell Steven Davis of Browntown, Robert Jordan Davis of Weems, Michael Timothy Davis of Sharps, Kevin Joseph Davis of Manquin. two daughters, Katherine Davis of Gloucester, Mary Ellen Thrift and husband David of Warsaw. 8 grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, a brother, Alfred Davis of Farnham, a sister Frances D. Lewis of Tidewater.
A funeral service was held January 21, at Welch-Marks Funeral Home, Warsaw, with burial in Totuskey Baptist Church cemetery. Father Michael Duffy officiated.
