Edith Jane Gardner Fiebelkorn was born July 7 1918, in Cedar Rapids to George and Dinah (Jones) Gardner. she grew up and attended school in Cedar Rapids and on July 3, 1937, married Harold Fiebelkorn at the Bethany Lutheran Church in Cedar Rapids.
The couple farmed until 1942, when they moved to shellsburg and owned and operated a welding shop.
Harold preceded her in death on March 18 1998. Edith enjoyed traveling, sewing and crafts and was a longtime member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Shellsburg, where she was active in the Ladies Guild.
In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Bud and Donald; a daughter in infancy; three sisters; three brothers; and three grandchildren.
She is survived by two sons, Terry Fiebelkorn and wife Sandra of Elgin, Ill. and Timothy Fiebelkorn of Shellsburg; three daughters, Diann Svoboda and husband Conrad of Cedar Rapids, Betty Lou Hyde and husband Clifton of Shellsburg, and Ronette Ternus and husband Steve of Shellsburg. Grandchildren- 24 grand-children and four great-grandchildren.
