John Federer, a pioneer resident of Sheboygan, died at his home, 1544 Alexander court at 5:20 p. m., Monday, at the age of 83. Mr. Federer was formerly a well digger in this section, and through this business he gained a wide acquaintance. He was born on July 20, 1S50, in Sheboygan, and has been a resident of this city ever since. He was married on April 15, 1875, to Miss Magdeline Mueller of the town of Sheboygan,, the Rev. Father Heider, then pastor of Holy Name Church, officiating. The couple celebrated their fiftieth wedding . anniversary eight years ago. Thirteen children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Federer. Eight of Local Pioneer, At Home Monday them, with their mother, survive. The children are: Michael, George, Mrs. H. Herziger, Mrs. Peter Rom- melfanger, Joseph, Mrs. Jacob Schwanekamp, Henry and Roman Federer, all of Sheboygan. Thirty grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and two sisters, Mrs. Peter Schieble of California, and Mrs. M. Landgraf of Sheboygan, also survive. The remains were taken home Tuesday afternoon and may be viewed there by friends and relatives until Thursday at 9 a. m., when funeral services will be held. Requiem mass will be conducted in St. Dominic's Church at 9:30 a. m., by the Rev. George Knackert. Burial will be made in the family lot In Calvary cemetery.
