Raymond G. Cox Jr., of Malabar, FL, formerly of Newburgh, NY, entered into rest on Thursday, December 4, 2008. He was 51.

Son of Raymond G. Cox, Sr. and Jeanne Thompson Cox, he was born June 13, 1957 in Newburgh, NY.

Ray was a 1976 graduate of Newburgh Free Academy and proudly served in the U.S. Army, receiving the Good Conduct and Army Commendation medals. Ray was currently working as a project manager for Haggan Construction in Flemington, NJ. He greatly enjoyed his boat and loved to fish. Affectionately known as "Ray-Ray", he was well loved by all his family and friends and will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his loving parents, Raymond G. Cox, Sr. and Jeanne Thompson Cox, both of Newburgh; brother, James Daly of Kentucky; sisters, Jeanne Cox-Passow of California, and Sandra Emmel of Wallkill; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and his beloved cat, "Clovis". Ray was predeceased by his brother, William Cox.

Visitation will be held from 2 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, December 7, at Brooks Funeral Home, 481 Gidney Ave., Newburgh, NY.

A funeral service will take place at 11 a.m. on Monday, December 8, in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, New Windsor.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Ray's memory may be made to the Kaplan Family Hospice Residence, 1 Sunrise Lane, Newburgh, NY 12550.
