Howard Arthur Daiger, age 86, of Colonial Beach, died Thursday, January 15, 2004. He was a retired steelworker from Bethlehem Steel and a member of Edgewater United Methodist Church. He was survived by his wife, Doris Bryant Daiger; a son Arthur H. Daiger of Colonial Beach; four brothers, Edward Daiger of Montpelier, Richard Daiger and Franklin Daiger of Baltimore, and Norman Daiger of Mechanicsville; four sisters, Agnes Hynson of Warsaw, Mary Allen O'Dwyer of Hyattsville, Md., Evelyn Chatham of Tappahannock, and Kathleen Daiger of Richmond. Two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Mr. Daiger was preceded in death by a son, Robert Daiger and a sister, Thelma Packett. Funeral services were Monday, January 19, at Welch Funeral Home, Montross Chapel, with the Rev. Sue Ann Salmon officiating. Interment was in the Providence UMC Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Luekemia and Lymphoma Society, 5845 Richmond Hwy, #630, Alexandria, Va. 22303.
