KOEPKE, CHARLES (CHUCK) BARTH_ It is with great sadness that we announce Chuck's passing on Sunday, June 6, 2004. He was predeceased by his father, Stanley Koepke, and his step-father, Walter Schmidt. Chuck is survived by his loving wife of 23 years, Laurie Koepke (nee Roset); his mother, Anne Schmidt; his brother, Doug (Dianne) Koepke; a very special friend, Monty Leinweber; mother-in-law, Evelyn Roset; sisters and brothers-in-law, Elaine (Harold) Douglas, Cheryl (Donald) Ulrich, Bryan (Sharon) Roset, Michelle (David) Mauer; as well as seven special nephews, a niece, and many other family and friends. Chuck was born on September 16, 1943 in Yorkton, where he completed his schooling. He graduated with a B.Admin. from the University of Saskatchewan, and spent a year in Winnipeg furthering his education in computer programming for the blind. Chuck began his career with the University of Saskatchewan, Regina Campus, before joining the Systems Centre and then the provincial Department of Health, where he was employed as a systems analyst until his retirement from government in December, 1996. Upon retirement he accepted a position with CGI, where he was currently employed. He was an accomplished golfer and always looked forward to participating in national and international blind golfers' tournaments, with many Canadian and Western Canadian championships to his credit. Stamp collecting was another lifelong interest of Chuck's. Chuck was an incredible individual, who was an inspiration to all who had the privilege of knowing him. He always met the many challenges life brought his way with determination and a positive attitude. Chuck will always be remembered for his caring and generous character and a wonderful sense of humour. He loved life and had a keen interest in everyone and everything around him. Next to his Lord, his friends and family were the most important thing in his life. He was an active participant at King's Corner Church of God. By his caring nature, he made many long lasting friendships, just a few of these being with international students, and his Little BrotherBlaine.
