Hubert Glenn Carter, 60, husband of Geneva Hamrick Carter, of 5 Cliffside Lane, died Sept. 21, 2000.
Born in Shelby, N.C., he was a son of the late Roy and Lois Agnes Carter Bailes.
Mr. Carter retired as a Master Chief Petty Officer from the U. S. Navy after 31 years of service, and served with the U.S. Post Office for 8 years. He was a member of Forest Hills Baptist Church, Crestfield Dr., where he served as a Deacon.
Surviving are three daughters, Tracy C. Finley and her husband, Jim, of Raleigh, N.C., Chandra C. Pressley and her husband, Lee, of Greenville, and Joy Michelle C. Bruckmann and her husband, Bill, of Piedmont; and four grandchildren, Joey and Jeffrey Pressley and Blake and Bradley Bruckmann.
He was predeceased by a son, Darren Glenn Carter.
Services will be held Saturday at 3:30 p.m. at The Mackey Mortuary, Century Drive, with the Rev. Doug Vernon officiating. Burial will follow at Greenville Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 3 p.m. Saturday at the mortuary.
