She was born Sept. 19, 1946, in Hutchinson, the daughter of Wilbur H. and Marie Gibson Rodgers. She graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1964 and attended Hutch JUCO for a year. She was a homemaker, previous owner of "R" Cafe, and a bookkeeper. She belonged to Grace Christian Church and was a member of AA, Red Hat Society, and Order of the Eastern Star.
On Aug. 27, 1965, she married Richard G. Dirksen in Hutchinson. He died March 12, 1980. Survivors include: a daughter, Julie A. Latta, Hutchinson; a brother, Don Rodgers, Colorado Springs, Colo; a sister, Karen "Connie" Bieber, Hutchinson; and two granddaughters. She was preceded in death by her parents; and a son, Richard "Rick" R. Dirksen.
Funeral will be at 10 am Tuesday at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson, with Pastor Darryl Peterson presiding. Burial will be in Penwell-Gabel Cemetery and Mausoleum, Hutchinson. Memorials may be sent to the American Heart Association, in care of the mortuary.
