Graveside services for William Hamilton Greelee were at 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 25, at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens.

Greenlee, 86, of Rock Springs, died on Wednesday, Oct. 20, 1999 at the Wyoming Medical Center in Casper following a short illness.

Greenlee was born July 1, 1913 in Pittsburgh, the son of Isaac and Lela Greenlee. After attending school in Pittsburgh, he went to sea. He traveled the world as a chief engineer in the Merchant Marine. He was a veteran of World War II. He married Helen Leverenz in Redondo Beach, Calif., in 1954.

He also worked as a boiler inspector and construction superintendent until his retirement from the Bechtel Corporation in 1977. During retirement, his pursuits included golf, gardening, cooking, collecting Louis Armstrong memorabilia and entertaining friends and family.

He is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Kelly and Pat Greenlee of Rock Springs; two daughters and sons-in-law, DiAnna and Bill Cowles of Mission Viejo, Calif., and Susanne and Leigh Briggs of La Mesa, Calif.; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and numerous friends.

His wife, Helen, his parents and sister, Marion Riggs, preceded him in death.
