Harvey Edward Martin

Harvey Edward Martin, 54, of LaSalle, died Friday, Dec. 30, 1994, in a car accident.

A funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the First Baptist Church in Greeley, at 10th Avenue and 11th Street. Friends may call at Stoddard Funeral Home until 11 a.m. Tuesday.

Harvey Martin was born Sept. 20,1940 in Fort Collins, the son of Godfred Martin and Rachel Fabrizious Martin, both deceased. He graduated from high school in Johnstown in 1958.

Mr. Martin worked for Great Western Sugar in Johnstown, Loveland and Greeley, having worked at the Greeley factory from 1985 to 1988. After his employment in the sugar industry, he ventured out on his own with an automobile repair shop east of Platteville. He was self-employed for two years, then worked as a machinist in his brother's machine and welding business in Greeley. For the past 15 months, he was employed at the Eaton Country Club as the head maintenance person. He excelled as an electrician, mechanic and machinist. He enjoyed fishing, camping and being outdoors.

Mr. Martin married Carolyn Sue Austin on March 6, 1960, in the First Baptist Church in Loveland They lived east of Platteville for 20 years, then moved to the rural Gilcrest-LaSalle area in 1990.

Survivors include his wife C. Sue Martin of LaSalle; three sons, Rick E. Martin and Harvey Martin of Platteville, and Scott Neale of Greeley; one daughter, Vickie Angove of Loveland; two brothers, William J. Martin of Arvada and Godfred L Martin of Longmont; two sisters, Rosie Miller of Greeley and Dorothy Hertz of Johnstown; and seven grandchildren.

Mr. Martin was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother.
