LAVALE,MARYLAND -- Ursula L. (Martz) Kuhlman, 89, of LaVale, died Sunday at Sacred Heart Hospital.
Born on Nov. 8, 1911, in LaVale, she was the daughter of the late Martin Joseph and Elizabeth Mary (Marley) Martz. She was also preceded in death by her husband of over 60 years, William Lawrence Kuhlman; her son, Lawrence J. Kuhlman; her son-in-law, Fred Gellner; eight brothers; and three sisters.
Mrs. Kuhlman was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, charter member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Pope John XXIII Council #5450, Knights of Columbus.
She was a wonderful woman, inspiring those she touched.
Survivors include her two daughters, Lillian Louise Gellner, Linden, N.C., and Ursula Joan Whitman and husband John, Flintstone; her daughter-in-law, Sharon Kuhlman, LaVale; six grandchildren, Jackie Dicken and husband Michael, LaVale, Kimberly Allamong, Winchester, Va., Greg Gellner, Fayetteville, N.C., Lisa Crawford, Sanford, N.C., Tina Van Sickle, LaVale, and Candice Whitman, Flintstone; seven great-grandchildren, Dennis, Chasity, Jasmine, Dianna, Autumn, Allison and Ryan; and numerous nieces and nephews, that were very close to her heart.
Friends will be received at the Upchurch Funeral Home, P.A., 202 Greene St., Cumberland, on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
The Christian Wake service will be conducted at the funeral home on Thursday at 8:45 p.m.
Mass of a Christian Burial will be celebrated at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church on Friday at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Vernon Busch, OFM, Cap., as celebrant.
Interment will be in the parish cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be Lee Barnett, Paul Kuhlman, Bob Kuhlman, Kenny Rounds, Dale Vanderhout and Ronald Holt.
