Robert was born in the village of Obersaida in Saxony, Germany. He came to America with his parents on the bark, "Iris", arriving Galveston on Nov 13, 1871 at the age of six. He became a naturalized US citizen on Apr 11, 1906.

He owned 230 acres near the Star Hill Community in Austin County, Texas, where he farmed. Part of his property was originally owned by his father.

Robert Paul Glaeser was married to Ida Helene Hofmann on January 15, 1888 by Austin County Justice of the Peace Christian Schmidt.

They had fourteen children; twelve girls and two boys. All of the children lived to adulthood. He and Ida were first cousins. Her mother, Caroline Glaeser, was the sister of Robert's father.

Robert and Ida both died Intestate. A certificate of heirship was created by Attorney Robert Hodde so that the fourteen children had a legal right to their estate.
