Nicholas "Nick" Francis Clay, 20, of Akron,IA, passed away suddenly, Wednesday, January 21, 2009, at Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City, IA. Funeral services will at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, January 27,2009 at First Baptist Church in Akron, IA, with the Rev. Jon Meredith officiating. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery, Akron,IA. Visitations will begin at 3:00 p.m., Monday, January 26, 2009, at Carlsen Funeral Home-Schroeder Chapel in Akron, IA. Visitations will continue Tuesday morning at the church from 9:30 a.m. until service time. Expressions of sympathy can be extended to the family through www.carlsonfuneralhome.com.
Pallbearers will be Allen Clay, Eric Milbrodt, Jamie Arens, Donald Schumaker, Kyle Pies and Justin Bringman.
Nicholas Francis Clay was born October 1, 1988 in Sioux City, Iowa to Michael Francis Bonowski and Colleen Clay. He grew up in the Elk point, SD, and Akron,IA, area.
Nick helped local farmers and did constrction work. He enjoyed cars and working on his Mitsubishi Eclipse performance. He also enjoyed skateboarding, fishing, and hanging out with his friends.
Survivors include his mother, Colleen Clay, Hudson, SD; sister; Ashley (Jamie)Arens and their children: Daniel, Michaela, and Chloe Arens; and sister, Lucy Clay,all of Akron, IA; a brother, Allen (Kayla) Clay and their daughter Lillian Louise Clay, Orange City,IA. The love of his life, Crystal McCormick,Hartford, SD; his grandgparents: Stan and Marlene Evans, Benton, KY; his aunt Michelle Metzke, Austin, TX.; and several other family.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Alan Clay; his great-grandparents: Raymond and Margaret Rosenbaum, and uncle Kevin Clay.
