A resident of the Loma Vista community in Wilson County, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, at the age of 95 years, 6 months, and 15 days.

He was born in Waldheim in Wilson County to Anna Blank and George Boening Sr.

He was baptized on April 3, 1909, in the First Lutheran Church in Floresville and confirmed on June 4, 1922. He had been a resident of the Loma Vista community for the past 74 years, was a farmer and served his community as the Farm Bureau director and the Financial Institution director. Agriculture production was a big part of his life and in his lifetime, he farmed everything from mules to large tractors. He was a lifelong member of the First Lutheran Church, where he served as a member of the First Lutheran Church Council. He also was a member of Hermann Sons and Hochheim Prairie for more than 75 years.

Preceded in death by: parents; brothers, George Boening Jr., Herbert Boening, and Alvin Boening; sisters Hertha Coldewey and Martha Orts; stepsisters Ida Schmidt and Annie Pfeil.

Survivors include his wife of 74 years, Cora Moehrig Boening, whom he married Oct. 8, 1950 in First Lutheran Church; sons Leland C. Boening (Pat) and Kenneth R. Boening (Mildred); granddaughter, Michelle Gay (Tom); grandsons, Michael Boening (Kim), Russell Boening (Margie), Scott Boening (Diane), and Ashley Conrad Boening (fiancée Brittany Bowles); stepgrandchildren, Rachel and Sandra Jasso; 12 great-grandchildren; 3 stepgreat-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held on Friday, Oct. 15, at 2 p.m. in the First Lutheran Church with Pastor Randall Conley officiating. Music included "Precious Memories" by Bennie Roemer, "How Great Thou Art," and "Take My Life."

Interment followed in the Floresville City Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Michael Boening, Russell Boening, Scott Boening, Justin Gay, Ashley Conrad Boening, Braden Boening, Austin Gay, Ethan Boening, and Maverick Boening.
