He was born Feb. 28, 1963, in El Dorado, Kansas, to Frank and Judith (Silbey) Gird.
He graduated from Yates Center High School in 1981.
He was employed with the Kansas State Highway Department for more than 20 years.
Survivors include a brother, Tim Gird, Iola, KS; and three sisters, Jamie Matile, Yates Center, KS, Melanie Zorn, Wichita, KS, and Michelle Mull, Winfield, KS.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Richard, on Jan. 23, 2005.
Funeral will be at Campbell Funeral Home. Inurnment will be at Yates Center Cemetery, Yates Center, Kansas.
