SERVICES HELD SATURDAY FOR MRS. KLEINMEYER
Rites Set For Friday Postponed To Saturday Due To Storm Conditions
The funeral of Mrs. Alvin Kleinmeyer was held in St. Paul's Lutheran church Saturday afternoon at 1:30 following a brief service at 1:15 p.m. in the McSwiggin & Uhlmann funeral home.
Mrs. Kleinmeyer passed away at the Watts hospital in Marengo at few minutes after a major operation Tuesday. Services first scheduled for Friday afternoon were postponed to Saturday due to the snow storm which had made roads impassible.
The deceased had been ill for two months prior to her death. Her maiden name was Emma Wardenburg and she was the daughter of Henry and Helene Moennich Wardenburg.
Her birthplace was in Iowa County and the date of her birth was June 25, 1902. She was baptized in St. John's church, Homestead, and was confirmed in Immanuel Lutheran church in York township.
She was married to Alvin Kleinmeyer in the church of her confirmation November 30, 1922. Her membership at the time of her death was in St. Paul's Lutheran church of Williamsburg.
Her husband Alvin and three sons Ernest, Edwin and Herbert survive her as do her parents Mr. and Mrs. Wardenburg, and brothers Henry, Norman, Edwin and Martin, and sisters Mrs. Elton Stohlmann, Mrs. Ivor Mumm, Mrs. Arthur Glandorf, Mrs. Martin Glandorf of Williamsburg and one sister Alma at home.
The male choir of St. Paul's Lutheran sang at the funeral.
Interment was in Immanuel Lutheran church cemetery. The pallbearers were Henry W. Hild, Henry Behrens, Ralph Lortz, Sr., George F. Schmidt, Tim Donohoe, Edwin H. Maas.
