Funeral services for Mary L. Suhreptz, 85, were held Thursday, August 24, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Alvord, Iowa. Mrs. Suhreptz died August 21, 1995 at Valley Manor Nursing Home in Rock Valley. The Rev. Schumacher and the Rev. Edward Oliver officiated. Interment was in Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery at Alvord. Mary L. Suhreptz was born March 24, 1910 in Canton to Clarence and Julia (Ferguson) Oliver. She graduated from Canton High School and McKennan School of Nursing at Sioux Falls. She worked as a nurse in the Northwest Iowa and Southeast South Dakota Area before starting a hospital in Canton March 1, 1934. She married Irvin Suhreptz February 20, 1935 at St Edward Catholic Church in Worthing, SD. The lived east of Inwood. She moved to Valley Manor in October 1987. Mr. Suhreptz died in 1994. Mrs. Suhreptz is survived by a son and his wife, John and Nancy Suhreptz of Sioux Falls; two daughters and their husbands, Mary Ellen and Vincent Leners of Emmetsburg, Iowa and Lois and Ken De Baere of Shenandoah, Iowa; a sister, Bernice Bihler of Las Vegas, Nevada; nine grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Merton and Bruce Oliver.
