Abstract--age 74, of Monaca, Pa., died May 4, 1996, at home. He was born Dec. 13, 1921, in Tunnelton, s/o Bessie Cool Maier, of Baltimore, and the late John Maier. He was a retired tugboat operator and was a U.S. Army veteran of WW II. He is survived by his mother; his wife, Mabel Danser Maier; three sons and daughters-in-law, Lanny and Susan Maier of Rochester, Pa., Greg and Kathleen Maier of Monaca, and Mark and Richelle Maier of Center Township, Pa.; a daughter, Mrs. Robert (Jodie) Barr, of Shippingport, Pa.; two brothers, Watson Maier of Monaca, and Wendell Maier of Tunnelton; two sisters, Nathalia Bolyard and Phyllis Maier, both of Baltimore. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Freeman Maier, Paul Maier, Richard Maier; and one sister, Norma Holt. Burial was in the Mountain View Cemetery, Tunnelton.
