Services for Mrs. Lena Fischer, 77, well known Burke resident, were held Friday afternoon, Nov 5 at Grace Ev. Lutheran Church in Burke. Pastor Roger Vomhof officiated and music was provided by Evelyn and Helen Bartling, Ruth Peterson, Linda DeWolf, Inez Jones and Darlene Soper, accompanied by Elmer Horn at the organ.
Interment was at Graceland Cemetery, Burke. Pallbearers were Preis Fahrenbacher, Merle Klufa, John Frank, Orion and Harold Fischer and Rudy Weickum.

At the age of 6, Magdalena Maertins arrived into the United States onboard "The Lahn" which sailed out of Bremen Germany arriving into New York on May 16, 1901, along with her father Michael, mother Pauline, siblings Lydia, Rhinehold, Gustave and Adolf.
She was united into marriage on January 21, 1911 to Henry Benhart Fischer in Naper, Nebraska.
