Lois A. Cornely, 68, Topeka, died Tuesday, Dec. 21, 2004, at Stormont-Vail Regional Health Center.
She was born Sept. 14, 1936, in Jacksonville, Fla., the daughter of Robert and Hazel Johnson Taylor. She attended Florida A&M University and moved to Topeka in 1957.
Mrs. Cornely was employed by the Kansas State Department of Revenue.
She attended True Vine Missionary Baptist Church.
She married William Cornely on July 15, 1956. He died in 1999. She also was preceded in death by a daughter, Roberta Cornely.
Survivors include three daughters, Angela Cornely, Eunice Luarks and Andrea Gilchrist; two sons, William Cornely Jr. and Robert Cornely, both of Topeka; seven grandchildren, Netasha, Candice, Yvette, Alisha, Rosetta, Mercedes and Robert Jr., all of Topeka; four great-grandchildren, Zeylona, Malachi, Honesti and Caleb; and an aunt, Idella Bowens, Jacksonville, Fla.
A funeral service will be at noon Tuesday at True Vine Missionary Baptist Church. Interment will be in Mount Hope Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday at Newcomer Family Funeral Home.
