Ell Jean E. Jacobson, 78, of 604 E. Grand Ave., Chippewa Falls, died Thursday, Feb. 5, 2009, at Sacred Heart Hospital surrounded by her family.
She was born April 9, 1930, in Chippewa County, the daughter of Anna Margaret (Rust) and Fred Volrath. She attended the Chippewa Falls schools and has resided in Chippewa Falls all her life.
Ell Jean married Robert C. Jacobson on Sept. 1, 1948, at Holy Ghost Church in Chippewa Falls. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Chippewa Falls.
She is survived by her husband, Robert; two sons, Dean (Luanne) Jacobson, Gary (Bonnie Corcoran) Jacobson; three daughters, Linda Woll, Diane (Greg) Leland, Jeanette (Donny) Geissler, all of Chippewa Falls; grandchildren, Mike Woll, Sarah (Mike) Paulson, Dean Jacobson Jr., Mike Jacobson, Laura (Adam Holtz) Leland, Brandon O'Connell, Brittany O'Connell, Stephanie Geissler, Jessica Geissler, Mike Corcoran; a brother, Dale (Sharon) Volrath; brother-in-law, William (Betty) Jacobson; sisters-in-law, Irene (Frank) Dulian, Dorothy Jacobson, Ann Jacobson and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Walter, Robert, Arthur and Floyd; three sisters, Margaret, Erna and Gertrude; and one son-in-law, Alan Woll.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m., Monday, Feb. 9, at Zion Lutheran Church, Chippewa Falls, with the Rev. Dr. Gary Paul officiating. Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery, Chippewa Falls.
Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m., Sunday at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel, Chippewa Falls, and one hour prior to the service at the church.
Ell Jean took great joy in her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed fishing, watching the Brewers and going to the casino. She was the best wife, mother and grandmother and will be sadly missed by all.
