Marjorie L. "Marge" McGrane, 75, of Colony Drive, passed away on Saturday (February 7, 2009) at Hartford Hospital following complications from heart surgery. She was the loving wife of Kevin C. McGrane.
Born in Winsted on March 15, 1933, daughter of the late Alf and Maude (Stimpson) Lundberg, she had lived here all of her life.
Prior to her retirement, she had worked at Waring for 29 years and at the Winsted Senior Center for several years after her retirement. She was a graduate of The Gilbert School, class of 1951, former member of the Catholic Women's Club and Daughters of Isabella. She was loved by all who knew her and will be terribly missed by everyone.
In addition to her husband of 57 years, she is survived by four sons, James McGrane and his wife Demy, Brian McGrane and his wife Kathy, Patrick McGrane and his wife Karen and Timothy McGrane and his wife Donna all of Winsted; four daughters, Doreen Goepfert and her husband Stephen of Stafford Springs, Kathleen Filburn and her husband Thomas of Granby, Colleen Carucci and her husband Kevin of West Hartford and Maureen Germond and her husband Kenneth of Winsted; she was predeceased by her son Kevin P. McGrane this past December, who she will now join in heaven. She also leaves a sister, Shirley Laffin of Winsted; 22 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren; three nieces, one nephew and her loyal dog Cocoa.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday at 10:30 a.m. from the Maloney Funeral Home, 55 Walnut Street to St. Joseph Church for the Funeral Liturgy at 11 a.m.
Burial will be in St. Joseph New Cemetery in the Spring.
Friends may call at the Funeral Home on Wednesday from 5-8 p.m.
