Louis was born in and died in Muskogee, Oklahoma. He was the first son of Roscoe Owen Blankenship and Frances Elizabeth Self. Louis married Edna Stewart 22 October 1921 in Wagoner County, Wagoner, Oklahoma. They had four children: Homer "CARL" Blankenship who married Leota Anderson, Betty Lou Blankenship married Paul James Pratt, Ida Frances Blankenship married Eugene Gregory Norman and Russell Dean Blankenship he was married 20 February 1960, but information did not say who he married.
