--Omaha Beach - West cen. part of Normandy beaches, NW France, NW of Bayeux and NE of Isigny and on either side of the Vine River at the Village of Saint-Laurent-sur-Mer; during World War II was the landing place of part of the American Army in the invasion of France June 6-1O, 1944.
--He was buried at Le Combe Cemetery - in 1948 his mother Ida Myrtle requested that his body be brought home and buried at Hillcrest Cemetery.
--Ida Myrtle (Haight) Ott was the sister of my paternal grandfather, Roland Wilbur Haight.
