She was born December 12, 1918, the daughter of John and Rose Hohe Reinecke on a farm southeast of Baileyville. She attended Sacred Heart School at Baileyville and helped on the family farm. Following high school, she moved to Kansas City where she worked for St. Margaret's Hospital from 1936 to 1940. She later worked for the Civil Service Administration in Kansas City.
On February 7, 1946, she married Leander Sextro at Astoria, Oregon. He died March 1, 1990. They lived most of their lives in Overland Park, She was was employed by the Shawnee-Mission School District from 1967 to 1980 and for about two years at the Shawnee-Mission Hospital.
She was a member of Queen of the Holy Rosary Church in Overland Park.
Survivors are 3 sons, Ronald Sextro of Cleveland, Ohio, Gary Sextro of Frisco, Texas, Ralph Sextro of Olathe, Kansas; two brothers, Frank Reinecke and Clarence "Mike" Reinecke both of Seneca; four sisters, Sr. Theophane Reinecke O.S.B. of Atchison, Helen Stallbaumer, Rita Holthaus, her twin sister, and Rose Ann Nordhus, all of Seneca; and ten grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
The mass of Christian burial will be 10 A.M. Thursday at Sacred Heart Church in Baileyville.
