Anita Lois Elsener
TIPTON - Funeral for Anita Lois Elsener, 78, Tipton, will be at 2 p.m. Monday at First United Methodist Church, Tipton, with the Rev. R. T. Perry officiating.

Mrs. Elsener died Friday, Jan. 30, 2009, Oklahoma City.

Burial will be in Frederick Memorial Cemetery under direction of Jackson Funeral Home of Frederick.

She was born Nov. 3, 1930, in Frederick, to Harvey Leslie and Maggie Jane Larrew Vaughan. She attended school in Frederick and graduated from Frederick High School with the Class of 1948. She married Gordon Lee Elsener on June 8, 1949, in the Methodist Church in Frederick. He died Jan. 10, 2004. She had worked for Dr. Fry and Dr. Johnson as a receptionist/clerk. She was later deputy court clerk at Tillman County Court Clerk Office before working as secretary for Mike Evans' Law Firm. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Tipton, where she sang in the choir and was a member of the Methodist Women for many years. She had been a member of Order of the Eastern Star, ESA and Circle Valley Home Demonstration Club.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law: Dale and Ann Elsener, Kingfisher; and Dan and Twyla Elsener, Tipton; two brothers and sisters-in-law: Rex and Sacra Vaughan, Atlanta; and Joe and Marilyn Vaughan, Canadian; two brothers-in-law: C.A. Gough, Oklahoma City; and Gilbert Hines, Stillwater; two sisters-in-law: Elizabeth Elsener, Tipton; and Joan Elsener, Stillwater; four grandchildren: Haley Chitwood, Garrett Elsener, and Clem and Cordelle Elsener; a special cousin, Dorothy Graham, Oklahoma City; and many nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother and sister-in-law: J. W. and Patricia Vaughan; a sister, Phyllis Gilbreath; two brothers-in-law: W. A. and Fred Elsener; and two sisters-in-law: Fern Gough and Gay Hines.
