He was one of nine children born to John Wesley and Laura Belle (Morgan) Hickman.
He married Nellie Mae Eck on Sunday, April 16, 1916.

Harry was an inspector for International Harvester in Indianapolis, for 15 years.
After Nellie died on May 21, 1960 he later married Ethel L. Temple, but had no children.
Harry passed away on Friday, August 1, 1969 and is laid to rest in Fairland Cemetery in Fairland, Indiana with his second wife, Ethel.
