Oswald Suhr Succumbs to Heart Attack Oswald Suhr, 56, died of a heart attack at his home near Scribner on Thursday. Funeral services were held Sunday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church with the Rev. Hugo Welchert of Omaha, and the Rev. Lester Lamm officiating. Music was by LeRoy Roemer, Loran Pfeiffer, Leslie Von Seggern and Harvey Haseman with Mrs. Delbert Moeller as organist. Pallbearers were William Moseman Sr., Henry Luecking, Vernon Von Seggern, Orville Von Seggern, Arthur Popken and Norman Popken. Interment was in St. Paul's Cemetery.
Mr. Suhr was born Nov. 2, 1902, north of Hooper. He attended Wayne State Teachers College, and was a life member of the St. Paul's Lutheran Church. He served as secretary of the church council for six years and was a member of the Lutheran Brotherhood, Dodge County Fair Board, and was active in community affairs. On February 10, 1926, he married Nellie Nelson in Wayne. The lived in Wayne for three years, and moved to a farm northwest of Hooper.
He is survived by his wife; daughters, Nadine (Mrs, Russel Johnson) and Norma Lee (Mrs. Delwyn Helgenberger) both of Scribner; his mother, Mrs. Gesine Suhr of Plano, Ill.; one brother, Richard Suhr of Filer, Idaho; two sisters, Irene (Mrs. Charlie Hein) of Fremont and Mildred (Mrs. Melvin Johnson) of Plano, Ill.; and six grandchildren. His father, a son, a sister and two grandsons preceded him in death.
