Arvin Menze, 74 of Ottertail, died Oct. 2, 2010, at the St. Cloud Hospital in St. Cloud.
Arvin Dennis Menze was born on April 26, 1936, at home on the family farm in Leaf Lake Township, rural Ottertail. His parents were the late Herman F. and Erna Sophia (Ohlrogge) Menze.
On May 10, 1936, Arvin was baptized at St. John's Lutheran Church in Ottertail and Confirmed on April 29, 1951. He attended St. John's Parochial School through the eighth grade.
He graduated from the Henning High School with the class of 1955.
On July 8, 1971, he married Nancy Ann Niskala in Sisseton, S.D.
Their marriage was blessed with a daughter, Peggy. Together they made their home in rural Ottertail. Arvin farmed his entire life with his brother, Delvin until his retirement.
Arvin was a Life Member of St. John's Lutheran Church and enjoyed deer hunting, dancing, playing baseball, riding horse and motorcycle rides.
He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. Preceding Arvin in death were his parents and brother, Verlin Menze.
Arvin is survived by his wife of 39 years, Nancy Menze of Ottertail; daughter, Peggy (Michael) DiPretoro of Battle Lake; two grandsons, Joey and Josh; sister, Sharon Witt of Henning; two brothers, Marlyn (Phyllis) Menze and Delvin (Bette) Menze, both of Ottertail; sister-in-law, Betty Menze of Fergus Falls; special cousin, Harold Menze of Ottertail; and many other relatives and a host of friends.
Service: 11 a.m. Thursday, at St. John's Lutheran Church, Ottertail
