He was a resistance fighter in Nazi Germany and one of the plotters of July 20th 1944.

His father Friedrich Klausing was the principal at the University in Prague and a stoic Nazi supporter. When he was made aware of his son's involvement of the plot to kill Hitler, he not only had to resign from his position, he was also so dismayed that he committed suicide on August 5, 1944.
