Phyllis A. Holland, 93, of Marine City, entered into Eternal Life on Tuesday, March 3, 2009 in Armada. She was born in St. Clair on July 9, 1915, a daughter to the late Joseph and Grace F. (Ayres) Joachim.

She married Clayton Henry Holland on January 18, 1941 at her parents' home in St. Clair. He preceded her in death on June 15, 1978.

Phyllis worked as a receptionist in Dr. Bowden's office in Marine City for 12 years and retired in 1977.

She was a member of St. Mark's Episcopal Church, Marine City.

Mrs. Holland served on the Library Board in Marine City and she enjoyed cooking, sewing, and solving crossword puzzles.

Surviving are her children, Annette H. Driver of Kings Mill, OH, Sarah H. (John) Harris of Lansing, and Joseph H. (Pam) Holland of Chesterfield; grandchildren, Kathryn (Christian) Super, Brad Driver, Laura (Tom) Dunn, John Sistanich, Joseph Holland, Jr., and Dennis Holland; great granddaughters, Chloe and Mia Super; and many nieces, nephews and dear friends.

A Memorial Service will take place on Saturday, March 21, 2009 at 11 a.m. in St. Mark's Episcopal Church, Marine City, with The Reverend Rebecca Baird Lepley officiating.

Urn interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Marine City Library or to St. Mark's Episcopal Church, Marine City.

Arrangements were entrusted to Bower-Rose Funeral Home, Marine City.
