"Mildred T. "Millie" Balmer, 76, of 624 S. Spruce St., Lititz, died Tuesday morning at Moravian Manor retirement community in Lititz after a long illness.

She was the wife of Paul E. Balmer. They celebrated their 54th anniversary last July.

Born in Brickerville, she was the daughter of the late James and Amanda Todd Enck.

A former beautician in Lancaster, Mrs. Balmer spent most of her life working on the family farm in Penn Township.

She was a 1938 graduate of Lititz High School and a 47-year member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church of Lititz.

She also belonged to the Lititz Women's Club and the Order of the Eastern Star in Lititz.

Surviving besides her husband are two sons, James L., husband of Evy Balmer of Lititz, and John P., husband of Susanne Balmer of Mount Gretna; a daughter, Hazel A., wife of Mark F. Nestleroth of Manheim; nine grandchildren; and four sisters, Ella Mae Enck and Helen Zwally, both of Lititz, Florence Showers of Mifflintown and Evelyn Heath of Lancaster."
