Mr. Draeger was a lifelong resident of the Tri-Cities area and was employed as a finisher at Story & Clark, retiring in 1985. He served his country in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. Mr. Draeger was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, the American Legion Charles A. Conklin Post #28 in Grand Haven, and the V.F.W. Sgt. Alvin Jonker Post #2326 in Grand Haven. He was an avid fisherman, and he also enjoyed hunting and walking on the pier.
Survivors include two daughters, Sherry (Tom) Coss of Mason, MI, and Mary (Rich) Peel of Spring Lake; a son, Terry (Terri) Draeger of Fruitport; six grandchildren: Melissa Sambaer, Ashleigh Hanlin, Brian, and Zachary Draeger, and Joshua and Brenden Peel; five great-grandchildren: Thomas, Adam, and Julia Sambaer, and Alayna and Ryleigh Hanlin; and a sister, Lois Fett of Spring Lake. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Eleanor Hellman and Lorraine Boetcher.
The service for Albert will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 31, 2007, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Grand Haven with Rev. William Langlois officiating. Friends may meet the family 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, October 30, at VanZantwick Bartels Kammeraad Funeral Home in Grand Haven. Interment will be in Lake Forest Cemetery.
Military rites will be provided under the auspices of the American Legion Charles A. Conklin Post #28 Honor Guard.
