She was born April 23, 1907, in St. Thomas, a daughter of Henry and Anna Rackers Gerling. She was married May 29, 1935, in Marys Home, to Henry Sallin, who died May 4, 1968.
She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Westphalia; St. Ann Sodality; St. Ann Sewing Circle; American Legion Post Auxiliary; Western Catholic Union; Westphalia Senior Citizens Club; and former election judge and Westphalia news correspondent for Linn Unterrified Democrat.
Survivors include: four daughters, Carol Sallin, Waneta Buthod and Linda Sallin, all of Jefferson City, and Shirley Luebbering, St. Thomas; two sons, Ronald Sallin, Murray, Ky., and Wendell Sallin, Glenview, Ill.; two brothers, Hubert Gerling, Mexico, and Norbert Gerling, Henley; 16 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and three step great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Westphalia. The Rev. Peter Walsh will officiate. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Westphalia.
Visitation will be from 1-4 p.m. Sunday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Westphalia. A prayer service will be at 4 p.m.
Memorials are suggested to Hospice of Jefferson City and Mid-Missouri.
