Mass of Christian Burial will be 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 26, 2005 at St. Augustine Catholic Church in St. Cloud for Leona L. Mischke, age 82, of St. Cloud, who died Thursday at St. Benedict's Center, St. Cloud. Rev. Luke Steiner, O.S.B. will officiate and burial will be at St. Michael's Cemetery in Buckman.
Friends may call from 4-9 p.m. Monday and 10:30-11:30 a.m. Tuesday at Dingmann Family Funeral Home in Sauk Rapids. Daughters of Isabella Stella Marie Circle 558 and St. Augustine Christian Women will pray at 4:00 p.m., followed by Crosier Apostolate at 5:00 p.m., Catholic Aid at 6:00 p.m., Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary at 6:30 p.m., and parish prayers at 7:00 p.m. all Monday at the funeral home.

Leona was born Aug. 3, 1922 in rural Royalton to John & Anna (Schmitt) Britz. She married Leo Mischke on Jan. 17, 1940 at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Buckman. They lived and farmed near Buckman until moving to St. Cloud in 1958. Leona and Leo owned and operated Park Grocery in St. Cloud from 1958-1962. She worked at Fandel's, J.C. Penney, and North Central Laboratories until 1972, when she and her husband retired to St. Petersburg, FL. She then worked at Edward White Hospital. Leona returned to Minnesota after Leo passed away in 1990. She then married Hubert Ehresmann on Dec. 29, 1995, and Hubert passed away in 2003. Leona was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church, Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 622 Auxiliary, Daughters of Isabella Stella Marie Circle 558, Crosier Apostolate, Catholic Aid Association, and St. Augustine Christian Women.

Survivors include her daughters and son, Karen (Ray) Bromenschenkel of St. Cloud, Shirley (Jim) Bromenschenkel of St. Cloud, Debra Chadick of Seminole, FL, and Randy Mischke of St. Petersburg, FL; step children, Duane (Sandy) Ehresmann, Ron (Pam) Ehresmann, Dale (Sharon) Ehresmann, and Steve (Sue) Ehresmann all of Minneapolis, Doris (Carl) Nivala of Ham Lake, Rose (Chuck) Theisen of Spokane, WA, and Renee (Mike) Anderson of St. Paul; brothers and sisters, Herbert (Esther) Britz of Buckman, Arlene (Jim) Bergeron of Brooklyn Park, Lavina (Percy) Dubbin of Cross Lake, and Harvey (Mary Lou) Britz of Columbia Heights; sisters-in-law, Deil Britz of Glencoe and Marion Mischke of Melbourne, FL; 3 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, 17 step grandchildren, and 4 step great grandchildren.

Leona was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Leo Mischke on May 16, 1990; second husband, Hubert Ehresmann on Sept. 13, 2003; brothers, Sylvester and Wilfred Britz; and grandson, Brian Bromenschenkel.
