Louise M. Otremba

Louise M. Otremba, age 74, a resident of Becker, MN, and formerly of the Buckman area, died June 15, 1994 at her home in Becker.

Funeral services were held on June 17 at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Buckman with the Rev. Kenneth C. Brenny officiating. Burial was in the parish cemetery.

Louise Marie Otremba was born on April 10, 1920 in St. Joseph, MN to the late Dominic and Anna (Rennie) Galama. Louise resided on the home farm in the rural St. Joseph area. On October 7, 1944 she was united in marriage to Leo "Sandy" Otremba. The couple farmed in Buckman Township until shortly after the death of her husband in November of 1966. At that time, Louise moved to Little Falls and was employed at the St. Francis campus until her retirement in 1984. She continued to reside in Little Falls until December of 1993 when she moved to Becker, MN to be closer to her family. Louise was a past member of the St. Michael's Christian Mothers and was truly known for the craftmanship and artistic ability found in her quilts and afghans. She will always be loved and remembered as a very classy lady.

Survivors include her sons, Robert of Brainerd, MN, James and wife Carol of St. Cloud, Richard and wife Gloria of Bloomington, Allen and wife Rosie of Hendersonville, TN, Kenneth and wife Jean of Hastings, MN, Ronald and wife Betty of Clear Lake, and Gary of Elk River, MN; daughters, Karen Otremba of Clear Lake, MN, Jean Otremba and Mary Otremba, both of Little Falls and Susan Pekarek and husband Marcel of Foley; brothers, Herbert Galama of St. Joseph, John Galama and wife Lou also of St. Joesph, MN and Richard Galama and wife Imelda of Tulsa, OK; sisters, Marie Schaefer and husband Jerry of St. Cloud, Teddy Sis of St. Joseph, MN, Leona Meinz and husband Bill, and Ann Neirgarten and husband Francis, both of St. Joseph, MN; 16 grandchildren, 1 great-grandson and many nieces and nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband Leo "Sandy" Otremba on November 30, 1966.

Pallbearers were Richard Otremba, James Otremba, Allen Otremba, Kenneth Otremba, Ronald Otremba, Robert Otremba, Gary Otremba and Ben Pekarek.
