Kenneth A. Duhme, age 82, of Maquoketa, Iowa died on Monday, March 16, 2009, at Mercy Hospital in Dubuque, Iowa.

A celebration of his life will be held at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, March 21, 2009, from the Carson & Son Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Maquoketa, Iowa. Burial will be in the Mt. Hope Cemetery, in Maquoketa, Iowa.

Kenneth A. Duhme was born on September 4, 1926 north of Fulton in Jackson County, Iowa, to Fred and Mary Campbell Duhme. He was a graduate of Maquoketa High School. He married Coralee Ruth Frank on August 29, 1948 in Maquoketa, Iowa. She preceded him in death on September 8, 2003.

Kenneth farmed the family farm north of Maquoketa his entire life. The farming operation cosisted mainly of dairy, beef and crops.

Kenneth was passionate about his life as a farmer and raiseing his family. He was known by his children as a good father who was hard working, kind and loving. He loved family get-togethers, and watching old westerns on television. His collie dog named "Buster" were special to him nad he enjoyed bowling in leagues and running in his earlier years. He was patriotic.

Kenneth is survived by children, Kenneth Paul Duhme of Maquoketa, Iowa, Linda & Jack Olson of Arlington Heights, Illinois, Rick Duhme of Maquoketa, Iowa, Loralee & Tim Malone of Eureka, California, Laureen & Jerry Schwenker of Maquoketa, Iowa and Kevin & Susan Duhme of Maquoketa, Iowa; 15 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; sisters, Arlene Tegmeir of Morristown, Minnesota and Helen Spratt of Oelwein, Iowa; brothers, Albert & Margaret Duhme of Maquoketa, Iowa, Melvin & Jean Duhme of Otter Creek, Iowa and Chester & Yvonne Duhme of Hardy, Arizona; a sister-in-law, Beulah Duhme of Marion, Iowa; and a brother-in-law Danny Blatt of Washington.

He was preceded indeath by his parents, his wife, two brothers, Elmer and Romaond, a half-brother, Harold, a sister, Thel;ma and a granddaughter, Holly.
