Dr. Gesa Maria Lamers, 37, of Caldwell, was taken away from us suddenly on March 26, 2008, in a tragic motor vehicle accident in Maryland.

Gesa was born to Guillermo and Elisabeth Lamers on Nov. 15, 1970. She grew up in Accokeek, Md. She graduated from the University of Maryland and received her Doctor of Medicine degree from East Virginia Medical School. She completed her residency at the Southern Colorado Family Medicine Residency in Pueblo, Colo.

She moved to Caldwell to work for Saint Alphonsus Medical Group in 1999, where she worked up until her death. She was an active member of the medical staff at West Valley Medical Center.

It was in Pueblo that she met the love of her life, Tulug Salahifar. Gesa and Tulug were married in 2001. Their beautiful daughter, Aylin, was born on Nov. 11, 2004.

Gesa was a wonderful wife. She loved her husband with all her heart. Tulug was her best friend. She took wonderful care of him, always praising him in his endeavors and always making sure that he had the most incredible gourmet meals. She also was the best mommy a little girl could have. Gesa always spent as much time with Aylin as she could. She always told Aylin how much she loved her. "Ich liebe dich, Aylin!" She taught her German and Turkish. She read to her constantly. She made beautiful princess dresses for Aylin. She enjoyed taking Aylin to the park and to the YMCA.

Gesa was an incredible friend. She was genuine and faithful. She was full of compassion. She was a great listener and had a way of making each of her friends feel like they were her very best friend.

Gesa was absolutely one of the best doctors around. She loved her patients. She dedicated herself to their needs. She listened, she cared, and she believed in them. She was a friend to many and was dedicated to her co-workers.

Gesa is survived by her husband, Tulug; her daughter, Aylin; her mother, Elisabeth; her brother, Yermo; her father and mother in-law, Behcet and Aynur; her brother-in-law, Cem; and her dog, Palang. She was preceded in death by her father, Guillermo, and her beloved dog, Faust.

The family wishes to thank all those who have shown their love for Gesa through their kind words, thoughts and prayers. All are invited to attend the celebration of Gesa's life on Thursday, May 1, at Kaley Center Auditorium, on the corner of 10th and Logan, in Caldwell from 6:30 to 7:30 pm.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to a scholarship fund at Home Federal Bank for her daughter, Aylin Salahifar.
