Mr. Trippel had been a pastor of a Baptist church in Onaga, as well as in Nebraska, Arkansas and Texas. He also was a manufacturer's representative in Texas and Kansas, and he served in the Air National Guard.
He was born Feb. 6, 1937, at Lincoln, Neb., the son of Fred E. and Matilda Trippel. He graduated from Lincoln High School in 1954, and he attended the University of Nebraska, Omaha Baptist Bible College, Ouachita Baptist Bible College at Arkadelphia, Ark., and Baylor University at Waco, Texas. Mr. Trippel was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Onaga where he was a deacon, lay minister and Sunday school teacher.
He married Mary Jo Hill on Feb. 5, 1956, at Lincoln, Neb. She survives.
Other survivors include a son, Larry H. Trippel, Onaga; two daughters, Terri Lynn Helms, Azle, Texas, and Sherri Jo Fisher, Seneca; two brothers, Don Trippel, Shreveport, La., and Dennis Trippel, Sterling, Va.; a sister, Vickie Nobbman, Courtland, Neb.; and six grandchildren.
Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Calvary Baptist Church.
Inurnment at the Onaga Cemetery will be at a later date.
Relatives and friends will meet from 7 to 10 p.m. today at the Trippel residence in Onaga.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Larry F. Trippel Memorial Fund to be designated later and sent in care of Tessendorf- Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Onaga.
