Brian Douglas Wekenman, son of Esther Briggs Wekenman and Douglas Wekenman, was born Nov. 25, 1949 in Reed City, MI. He grew up there and graduated from Reed City High School in 1967. Brian came to Sioux Falls to attend Sioux Falls College where he participated in athletics and graduated in 1971.
He was united in marriage to Linda Pickert on Apr. 3, 1971 at Christ the King Catholic Church in Sioux Falls.
He was employed by Dakota Sports in Sioux Falls for the past 17 years as a school and team salesman.
Brian was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, the Harrisburg Community Club, the Augustana College and Sioux Falls College Booster Clubs, and the Harrisburg Centennial Committee. He was also active in the YMCA and its various youth programs.
While his family was his highest priority, Brian also had a love for sports which enabled him to touch the lives of many. He was very involved with youth sports, coaching T-ball teams, girl's softball, boy's baseball and YMCA basketball teams.
