Robert E. "Bob" Kretzer, 76, of Decatur died 11:53 p.m. Tuesday (Sept. 30, 1997) in Manor Care Nursing Home. Services will be 1 p.m. Friday in Brintlinger's Funeral Home with visitation 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday. Burial will be in Illini Cemetery, Warrensburg.
Mr. Kretzer was born in Decatur, the son of Richard Henry and Caroline Juanita Davis Kretzer. Mr. Kretzer worked at A.E. Staley Mfg. Co. as a foreman prior to his retirement and served with the Navy during World War II. He married Mildred Crum on April 20, 1940, in Decatur. Surviving are his wife; two loving daughters, Barbara and Carol Kretzer, both of Decatur; stepsister, La Vern Harrison of Ormond Beach, Fla.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one sister.
