Martha E. Boysen, 94, of 1405 W. Highway 34 died Saturday, Feb 5, at a local nursing home.
Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Apfel-Butler-Geddes Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. John Reehl officiating.
Burial will be in the Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m., with the family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to the Trinity Lutheran Church.
Mrs. Boysen was born July 8, 1899, at Denison, Iowa, to Rudolph and Sophie (Leptien) Lehfeldt. She grew up and attended school at Denison public schools and graduated in 1918. She then attended business college in Omaha and art school in Minnesota.
She married Bernhard Boysen on April 9, 1921, at Denison, and the couple lived in Crawford County, Iowa. In 1943, they moved to Grand Island, where she worked for Hested's Department Store until 1950.
Mr. Boysen died in 1956 and she continued to live in Grand Island.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church; the Navy Mothers, of which she was a past commander; and Volunteered at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center for many years.
Survivors include two daughters, Martha Guillaume of Sioux City, Iowa ad Gladys Cullip of Twin Falls, Idaho; one son, Gerry Boysen of Denver, Colo.; 16 grand-children, 40 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Hertha Cavet of California.
She was preceded in death by a son and a granddaughter.
