World War II Veteran

He and Helen were childhood sweethearts. When Joseph went to War (WWII) he left without a "promise of marriage" to Helen. While he was gone, Helen met James M. Fox, who was stationed at Valley Forge Military Hospital, where Helen worked. They got married and joined the military life, which included tours of duty in the US and Europe.. Joseph never got married. In 1990 Helen and James divorced after 44 years of marriage. Helen loved to play Bingo, and one night at a church hall she ran into Joseph again. In 1992, Joseph age 69, and Helen age 65, were finally married. It was sad that just 9 months after this marriage Helen had a major stroke and was wheel-chair bound. Joseph stood by her and cared for her until his health would not allow him to continue. He always said "I waited for her this long, I'm not going to let her go now". Because of Joseph's declining health, Helen's daughter and son-in-law took both of them into their home and cared for them until they both passed away.
