OBITUARY
NORFOLK - Funeral services for Frank S. Lofurno, 76, retired antiques dealer and musician, will be conducted at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Saturday at 10 a.m. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. Lofurno, who died in a Norfolk hospital Wednesday at 9:50 p.m., was a charter member of the Norfolk Symphony Orchestra. Rosary services for Lofurno will be conducted at the H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments Friday at 7:30 p.m. Lofurno's musical activities covered a long span of years. He was a trombonist. The veteran musician was a former member of the Norfolk Symphony Orchestra. He also played with orchestras at the Academy of Music, the Granby, the Colonial and other theaters of the 1920's. From time to time he appeared with bands at the nearby beaches. In his work as head of music organizations, he attended many conventions in New York, Chicago and other places. A native of Nicosia, Italy, he had lived in Norfolk 60 years, lately at 1904 DeBree Ave. He was the husband of Mrs. Rose Augustine Lofurno and a son of Anthony and Mrs. Nicola Martini Lofurno. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He was a member of Sacred cal 125, American Federal of Musicians; Norfolk Elks Lodge 138, Norfolk Fraternal Order of Eagles, and Roma Sons of Italy....."
