Thelma M. Rippen, 87, of the Nebraska Veterans Home died Sunday, Sept. 3, 1995, at the veterans home in Grand Island.
Services were at All Faiths Chapel of the veterans home. The Rev. Tim Anderson officiated. Burial in Burkett Cemetery.

Mrs. Rippen was born April 16, 1908, at Pierceville, Kan., to John and Minnie (Williams) Prentice. She grew up and was educated in Liberal, Kan.
She married Glenn R. Rippen on June 26, 1930, at Clatonia. They lived in Hallam before moving to Grand Island in 1973. Mr Rippen died in 1989.
Survivors include one daughter, Glenda Smith of Waco, Texas; a niece who cared for her, Linda Gabriele of Redding, Calif.; five grandchildren; one brother, Gene Kindschi of California.
She was preceded in death by one sister and one brother.
