Canute Harders, 21 years of age, son of the late Rev. J. F.G. Harders and Mrs. I. Harders, was killed in an accident at the Inspiration mine in Miami yesterday afternoon having been dragged between a car and some timbers with the result that the upper part of his body was crushed. Young Harders was operating an engine at the mine at the time of the accident.
He passed away as he was being taken from the mine to the hospital in Miami. Although living with his mother in Miami at the time of his death young Harders and his parents formerly lived in Globe. His father was the Lutheran Indian missionary in Globe until his death in 1917, having lived with his family in Globe for 10 years. Shortly after the death of Rev. Mr. Harders, his family moved to Miami where they have resided since 1917. Besides his mother, Mrs. I Harders, he is survived by two sisters and four brothers, Hans of Milwaukee and Mrs. G.W. Fisher of Minocque, Wis., Claus, Jens and Holton of Miami and Mrs. G.H. Abel of Miami.
The body is being held at the Miles undertaking parlors in Miami. Up to this afternoon, no funeral arrangements had been made.
An inquest is being conducted this afternoon by Justice of the Peace McEachren, acting as a coroner.
